Hazrat Nizamuddin is an extremely famous locality in the heart of Delhi, which is known for housing the Dargah of the great Sufi saint Nizamuddin Auliya. Situated quite close to the posh localities of Safdarjung, Lodhi Road and Defence Colony, the locality is divided into East and West sections. The area is primarily a residential one and also houses one of the five major railway stations of Delhi. Apart from the Dargah itself, there are quite a few places of tourist interest in the vicinity of this neighborhood, including Humayun Tomb, Barakhamba Tomb, Chausath Khamba, Humayun Darwaza and Vishwa Shanti Stupa.

Hazrat Nizamuddin is one of the five major railway stations that serve Delhi NCR. The station handle a rush of around 2 lakh passengers on an average per day and is  the originating station for several important trains connecting Delhi to various parts of the country. The responsibility of managing the station rests on the shoulders of Northern Railway Zone of Indian Railways.  The station boasts of 16 platforms which handle traffic of around 150 to 200 trains per day.
