In the chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh in the southern part of India lays the city of Tirupati which is one of the holiest places for Hindu worship as it houses the Venkateswara Temple, famous around the world. This, along with a number of other temples has earned the city the name of \u2018spiritual capital of Andhra Pradesh\u2019 and was also named the \u2018best heritage city\u2019 in the year 2012 \u2013 2013 by the Indian Ministry of Tourisms. Millions of Hindu pilgrims throng the city every year to visit the infamous temple. The Padmavathy temple located in the lower Tirupati is as famous as the main temple in Tirumala, atop the mountain called the upper Tirupati.<\/p>\n

Named as one of the busiest stations in India due to the large number of bookings happening every year owing to the pilgrims visit to the temple, the railway station has five platforms with escalators available in each one of them. The platforms are long enough to host a train as long as with 24 coaches. The south central railway list Tirupati as an A1 category station and is well connected by trains to the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu and other parts of Andhra Pradesh.<\/p>\n
