Ambala Cantonemnet or Ambala Cantt as it is popularly known is the army area that forms a part of the Ambala district in the state of Haryana. The cantonment area is separated from the main city by a distance of nearly 3 kms, which is why the two sub-areas are also referred to by the name of \u201cTwin City\u201d. \u00a0The cantonemnet area is one of the oldest army bases in the country and was established by the British in 1843. The Ambala Cantt Railway station is located at an important junction in the northern region. The railway station serves both Ambala Cantt and Ambala City and is operated by the Northern Railway division of Indian Railways.
